Meghan Markle Faces Backlash as Fans Slam ‘Contrived’ Home Video

Meghan Markle is back on Instagram in time for the launch of her Sweetheart Bundle, in collaboration with Compartés Chocolates, and she’s shared a couple of sweet videos and pics promoting the products.

In one of the videos, Meghan presents a box of chocolates to her delighted husband. But fans say the whole thing is so “cringe” and “contrived.”

Meghan Markle has once again found herself in the eye of a critical storm, after she opted to share a home video she appears to have recorded herself. The video, of course, features yours truly, the one and the only Prince Harry.

In the video, we see Meghan bring a box of chocolates to Harry’s office. Harry, who is barefoot and sitting at his desk on his laptop, immediately appears happy at the prospect of treats. When he is presented with the chocolates, he grabs one bar, saying, “Oh yes, please.”

Meghan then pans in the camera to show viewers the type of chocolate he opted for. Spoiler alert: it’s a limited edition white chocolate.

As Meghan takes her tray away, we hear Harry call, “thank you, love you.” However, fans think the whole thing gave off the air of a couple performing for the cameras.

“Things must be getting desperate if Meghan Markle’s roping Prince Harry in for an As ever promo,” one fan wrote on X.

Another declared, “It’s SO contrived!!!”

One social media user chose to poke fun at Harry’s Princely origins, writing, “What a comedown for the once very popular prince of the realm!”

“This looks so fake,” another fan observed.

Some Fans Found Their Video Adorable

However, there were those who found the exchange between the Sussex couple adorable and sweet.

“Sweet favorites return, plus something brand new. Set your reminder — it won’t last long. The As Ever x @compartes Valentine’s Day collection, coming Saturday,” Meghan said of the chocolate collection.

This collaboration comes after it was revealed Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, still has thousands of unsold products in stock.
