Meghan Markle Gets Slammed For Cradling Her Baby Bump

On Monday night, Meghan Markle made a surprise solo appearance at the British Fashion Awards. The Duchess of Sussex presented the British Womenswear Designer of the Year award to Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, who also made her now-iconic wedding dress.
“As all of you in this room know, we have a deep connection to what we wear. Sometimes it’s very personal, sometimes it’s emotional. But for me this connection is rooted in, really, being able to understand that it’s about supporting and empowering each other, especially as women,” Meghan Markle stated in her opening speech.
The 37-year-old royal, who is expecting her first child with Prince Harry, turned heads wearing a sleek one-shouldered black gown by Givenchy. She kept her hair in a neat bun and completed the look with gold shoes and chunky gold bracelets. Fashion critics observed how she bravely broke royal protocols once again by wearing dark-colored nails.
But it wasn’t just her fashion choices that are getting attention. The Duchess of Sussex, who is currently around six months pregnant, is getting ire for the way she’s been showing off her growing baby bump.

During her British Fashion Awards appearance, Meghan stepped out on stage cradling her belly and rubbing it several times during her speech. As reported by Today, some netizens got “upset” about Meghan’s proud mommy-to-be moment as they took it to be a bit inappropriate.
“Seriously, no pregnant woman poses for photos like this. Ever. She’s such an actress,” a royal observer wrote on Twitter.
“When will Meghan ‘Duchess of Sussex’ stop constantly cradling her bump! Like the whole bloody world doesn’t know she’s pregnant and it’s not like she doesn’t get enough attention she craves. ‘I’m here to give an award but il make sure the attention is on me, not the winner,’” commented another.
Monday night’s outing wasn’t the first time for Meghan to be photographed cradling her precious bump. During her royal trip to Australia with Prince Harry, just a few days after announcing her pregnancy, the former Hollywood star was also pictured caressing her belly on several instances. As Kensington Palace previously confirmed, Prince Harry and Meghan are expecting their baby sometime in spring.

She’s being slammed for being so phony and staged about it! All pregnant women touch their belly at some point, but she does it to SUCH excess and in such a staged photo op way! She’s just such a phony about so so much and the taxpayers are sick of her! Rightfully so…
Why is it anyone’s business what & why Megan does anything? Too many people are hating on her for no reason. Are they jealous? A lot of pregnant women cradle their baby bump. Whether Megan does it consciouly or not, so what!! Why does it bother anyone, what does it matter? You all are just a bunch of haters. It’s not up to me, you or anyone besides the Queen to decide if Megan is acting appropriate or not. You all need to mind your own business. If it was anyone else would you even care? Not that it matters. Talk about being phony, I sure wouldn’t want any of you for friends. You need to get that stick out of your asses.

Why would it be inappropriate, it is her body that is carrying the baby??? The Royal Family already will “suggest” what she and Prince Harry name their baby. They tell her what she should wear etc. They mentioned on the news, too, how Beyonce Knowles Carter cradled her bump when she announced her first pregnancy on the MTV Music Awards .
Oh, for crying out loud! Leave Meghan alone! REMEMBER, this is her FIRST baby and she’s excited! She may feel the baby move and is responding! She’s a Mom for goodness sake. Let her enjoy every moment of her pregnancy. It has NOTHING to do with acting or being phony! She’s American and isn’t aloof or stiff when it comes to showing her emotions which is one of the many attributes that attracted Prince Harry to her in the first place. So if the royals are fine with her and her behavior, the naysayers can just shut up already!!!
