Meghan Markle Gives Birth To A Baby Boy!

He’s finally here! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they are the new parents of a baby boy! The Duchess of Sussex gave birth to her first child during the early hours on Monday morning. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Britain’s The Sun, Meghan Markle gave birth at about 5:30am local time in her home at Frogmore Cottage near Windsor Castle. And just as promised, the couple kept the details of their birth to themselves for several hours before releasing it to the press. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said in a previous statement that they plan on celebrating their new family of three privately before going public with their birth announcement.

Harry was the first to make the statement on the couple’s official Instagram account. Posting simply “It’s a BOY!” the caption also read: We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”

With that said, it doesn’t look like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be sharing any additional details including what their son’s name will be until the end of the week. The public might not also see the first Sussex family photo until that time, too.

Meghan Markle didn’t want to pose in front of the cameras right after giving birth just like her sister-in-law Kate Middleton has in the past. She also opted out of using St. Mary’s Hospital in London and preferred to have a home birth instead. It’s understood that Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland was also by her daughter’s side throughout her entire labor and delivery.

Congratulations to both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on this very exciting new journey! There’s no doubt that they are going to make two terrific royal parents. Royal fans from all around the world can’t wait to see the first photo of Baby Sussex once it becomes available.
