Even though Thomas Markle Sr. was hoping to be a part of his grandchild’s life, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen anytime soon. Meghan has made no effort to reach out to her family back in the U.S. and doesn’t plan on doing so, either. Royal expert Katie Nicholl weighed in on the drama and told Fox News in an interview, “I think really she’s been incredibly hurt and disappointed by how many members of her family have behaved, but from what I am told, she’s moved on.”
And while Meghan herself is yet to make any public comments about her ongoing feud with her estranged family members, it’s been noted that Thomas Markle himself has not said anything or granted any interviews since he released a heartbreaking letter that Meghan sent him last year. In her letter, Meghan pleaded with her father to stop talking to the press about their personal matters.
“Daddy, it is with a heavy heart that I write this, not understanding why you have chosen to take this path, turning a blind eye to the pain you are causing,” the 37-year-old wrote in a handwritten letter, dated August 2018, that’s over five pages.
Of course, time will only tell if Meghan and Thomas will ever be able to repair their relationship, let alone be in the same room again. The last time Meghan spoke with her father was before her wedding day to Prince Harry in May of last year. The Duchess is currently on her maternity leave and is awaiting the birth of her royal baby. We will definitely update you with all the latest details once they come in.
