Meghan Markle attempted to break into the lifestyle market with a new scented candle. However, allegedly, they aren’t doing very well with the public. Recently, a critic opined that the problem has a lot of underlying issues. Read on to find out more.

Complaints About Candles

On his Daily News Headlines YouTube channel, royal commentator Neil Sean, giving his Friday night review, seemed rather scathing. He claimed that in spite of the “thousands, if not millions of somebody’s money” being spent on Meghan’s image, she is not getting the “desired effect.”

Apparently, some folks complained about the candles. And that’s a problem because of Meghan Markle’s failing efforts to find a positive public relations campaign. Also, Sean mentioned that allegedly, the Duchess feels irritated by rival royal brands.

Fury When Things Go Wrong?

Allegedly, Sean claimed, more than one ex-employee said that she becomes “more and more furious… simply because things aren’t going her way.” But, in his opinion, “Meghan Markle is gradually turning out to be her own worst enemy.”

Discussing the candles, allegedly, some buyers discovered that the wicks were defective or missing altogether. According to Sean, this was a public relations disaster, and the Duchess had “the perfect chance” to solve it directly.

Instead, instead of quietly sending off replacements, the royal expert felt that she should have gotten “in front of the camera on your Instagram with the expensive PR people that you pay and say, ‘Like to apologize. We’re going to send you a new one.'”

In his opinion, this failure gives the impression that she’s not “realizing that the customers are the ones who matter.”

Rivalry With Royal Brands

Talking about perceived rivalry, Sean suggested that the Duchess felt slighted by the scented candle launch at Highgrove where the King lives. Notably, “the royal shops have been doing this for a considerable number of years.” Plus, he added, “And they’re not as expensive. And more importantly, they’ve been thoroughly quality checked.”

In the end, the commentator’s point of view is that the candle issues come from a basic lack of good brand management. Of course, that, in turn, results in a dwindling of consumer support. Furthermore, Sean insinuated that the Duchess, by “burying her head in the sand” and ignoring the customer service problems, is playing with fire.

The fact that the business entrepreneur made only a quiet response to the initial issues could seriously impact the potential sales of her products.

Viewers Respond

Many people follow the royal commentator because every day he dishes something via sources, or from his own opinion. So, lots of people visited the comments section. One of them penned, “Meghan should have listed ‘wick sold separately ‘ lol.”

Here are more reactions from the discussion area:

  • So much for Meghan’s candles having quality control. It is like everything she does….greatly lacking is any substance.
  • The words “sorry”, “I apologise” have never passed her lips.
  • The Highgrove Shop was opened in 1992 by Charles. The toxic wife of Harry began her brand earlier this year! So who is copying who exactly? I guarantee if you buy candles from Highgrove you will also get the wick.
  • Meghan’s products are subpar, over priced and flawed. Who in their right mind would purchase such ridiculous products?
