Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their son Archie back on May 6th. Many eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that the Duchess wasn’t in tip top shape during the Trooping the Colours celebration in London earlier this month. But then again, why would she be? Meghan just gave birth a little over a month ago and instead of hitting the gym everyday, she’s taking things rather lightly and doing morning yoga to stay in shape instead.
Of course, a lot of royal fans can’t help but compare Meghan to her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, who managed to lose all of her baby weight in no time after she gave birth to Prince Louis back in 2018. But that doesn’t seem to be on Meghan’s agenda. Instead of focusing on her appearance, she’s paying more attention to her son and his needs at home.
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl put it this way to Entertainment Weekly, “It’s been a natural embracing of motherhood, and with that has come a pretty gentle routine…. Meghan hasn’t been hitting the gym. She hasn’t been in any hurry to get back in shape. It’s only four weeks, really, since the birth, and she’s been taking that exercise regime very gently, indeed.”
So far Meghan Markle herself hasn’t made any comments about her postpartum workout plans. But seeing how she used to be an avid runner, there’s a good chance that she might dust off her running shoes sooner rather than later. But for now, she’s taking it all one day at a time. After all, Meghan is expected to remain on her maternity leave until at least the end of the summer.
