Meghan Markle created her own “warped reality” narrative about her life to boost her fame, according to royal family expert Vanessa Grigoriadis, a journalist. And the royal expert also shared exactly what specific areas of Meghan’s life appear to be fiction rather than fact.
However, Grigoriadis got blunt in describing the Duchess of Sussex as so determined to become famous that she got aggressive in demanding the press spotlight.
Find out what the royal expert shared about Meghan’s alleged lies. And learn what narrative Markle concocted to stay in the spotlight. Get all the details below.
Meghan Markle Develops ‘Warped Reality’
Since 2018, royal expert Vanessa Grigoriadis has written about Meghan Markle. And this week, she talked with former BBC journalist Andrew Gold in a podcast about what she discovered. In Vanessa’s eyes, Meghan represents the dysfunctional aspects of Hollywood, according to the Mercury News.
But Grigoriadis also looked back at Markle’s youth. And she described Meghan as ambitious, striving to become more than a “household name.” However, to achieve her goals, Markle first progressed through high school and college. And she then fought to get recognized in Hollywood as an actress.
As a result, Vanessa believes that Meghan gradually invented more and more narratives about her life that do not relate to reality. And Grigoriadis sees her behavior as symbolic of Hollywood. But the journalist also believes that Markle has developed “a sort of a strange relationship to objective reality. She has this warped reality,” added Grigoriadis.
Meghan Markle Invents Her Own Cinderella Story
But the royal expert also sees a pattern with the Duchess of Sussex. And Vanessa believes that Meghan developed a habit of creating her own reality. But after concocting her narrative, Meghan then gathers twisted proof to support her fake tales, according to Grigoriadis. However, Grigoriadis also pointed to evidence of Markle’s fiction versus the truth.

In a speech, Meghan once described herself as struggling to fund her education in Northwestern University. And she became inspiring in what some saw as a Cinderella fairy tale come true. However, her estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, claimed that their father paid for Meghan’s college education. And Samantha described her half-sister as “delusionally absurd.”
But even as the media gave Meghan the spotlight, some from her past offered their own tales about her. For instance, those who knew Markle from her acting days shared that Meghan may seem sweet and friendly. But in reality, the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t easily form friendships, they claim. And the press gradually changed its coverage of Meghan and Harry.
When the Duchess and Duke of Sussex began to spill royal family secrets to hold onto their relevancy, the media shifted. And their Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan,” marked a major turning point. But while the British tabloids developed a reputation for behaving cruelly to Harry, Grigoriadis disagrees that the tabloids seemed unfair in their coverage of Markle. And the royal expert believes that Meghan has managed to control her narrative despite her ability to weave fiction with reality.
