Meghan Markle reportedly suddenly decided she wanted to meet “Spider-Man” actor Tom Holland. And Tom, famously naive (remember when he thought a reference to RuPaul’s Drag Race meant literally racing cars?!), apparently thought that what the Duchess of Sussex wants, she gets. As a result, off went Holland to visit the Duchess in her California home.

Tom Holland Baffled By Meghan Markle’s Invitation

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… an invitation from Meghan Markle! And Tom Holland, beloved for his role as “Spider-Man,” reacted with confusion, according to insiders quoted by Marie Claire. But even though Tom reportedly had never met either the Duchess or Duke of Sussex, he accepted the invitation.

Holland, joined by his girlfriend and “Spiderman” co-star  Zendaya, visited both Meghan and Harry in their mansion in Montecito, California. But the actor went all the way to their home without knowing what Markle wanted, shared one of the sources. And his girlfriend reportedly felt equally baffled. 

“‘Tom and Zendaya were rather bemused, from what I hear,” shared the insider. “Tom had never met Harry or spoken to him in his life.” But Holland and Zendaya apparently either felt intrigued by the invitation or thought they might seem rude at rejecting it. 

Why Did Meghan Markle Want Tom Holland To Visit?

Despite the source getting described as a close friend of Prince Harry’s, no one spilled on exactly what happened when the foursome met up. (If we just had a Spidey-Sense like Peter Parker!) But the meeting did spark three key theories about why Meghan wanted Tom and Zendaya to visit her.

First, Holland and his girlfriend do possess some similarities to Markle and Prince Harry. Just like the Duchess and Duke of Sussex, Tom and Zendaya represent both Britain and the United States in their relationship. And just like Meghan and Harry, the stars must constantly cope with paparazzi and the pressures of fame
