Royal Family News – Meghan Markle Has ‘Pinch Me Moment’

Royal Family news reveals that the Duchess of Sussex touched on her experience with One Young World in her speech telling delegates, “You are the future. I would like to add to that, you are also the present, you are the ones driving the positive and necessary change needed across the globe now and in this moment.”

According to Express UK, the duchess discussed what she called a “pinch me moment” she had when joining One Young World as “the girl from Suits.” Markle explained, “I was invited to pull up a seat at the table. I was so overwhelmed by this experience, I think I even saved my little paper place cars have had my name on it. Proof that I was there, and proof that I belonged.

“They saw in me just as I see in you, the present and the future.”

Representation, Inclusion, and Access

Markle said that, before the speech, she was able to meet with some of the One Young World delegates, calling the meeting “incredibly inspiring.” She added that “resounding themes came up” like “representation, inclusion, and access.”

She said, “I am incredibly humbled to not just stand before each of you but to stand beside you. We often hear people say the time is now but I’m going to double down on that by saying your time is now. The important work can’t wait for tomorrow.”

Delegates Doing ‘Outstanding Work’

The Duchess of Sussex stepped up to deliver her speech to the 2,000 One Young World delegates in her first such speech since she and Prince Harry stepped down as working royals in 2020. Markle is a counselor for the organization and this particular summit brings together young leaders from more than 190 countries.

Harry and Meghan also met with a group of delegates who, One Young World says, are doing “outstanding work on gender equality.

Britain First Crashes The Party

A van for the right-wing organization Britain First drove the Manchester streets blasting the National Anthem. During his speech, Sir Bob Geldof mentioned that he saw the van and condemned nationalism as a means of spreading hate.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were invited to join fellow One Young World counselors on stage for the opening ceremony. The royal couple walked hand-in-hand through the crowd before ascending the stage.
