Meghan Markle Movie Return Fueled By Royal Jealousy?

Meghan Markle exited the acting arena when she and Prince Harry became engaged. Afterward, she dabbled in various projects, but presently, the Duchess of Sussex makes an official comeback to the film industry. However, according to a royal commentator, this move isn’t really about art, but is rather a strategic battle with the Royal Family.

A Deliberate News Leak?

Initial reports suggested that people involved in the new movie were told to keep quiet. Nevertheless, someone leaked the news. Well, Neil Sean, a royal commentator shared his opinion during his Daily News Headlines vlog on Thursday. And, he suggested that the announcement was very much part of the strategy.

Notably, the news about filming for Close Personal Friends coincided “just on the day of the earth prize.” In his opinion, Sean felt it was an effort to distract from Prince William’s environmental initiative. Sean described her motive as “literally dripping in seething jealousy” over the Prince of Wales.

Not Getting Paid To Act?

The Amazon MGM Studios production is packed with talented actors like Lilly Collins, Brie Larson, and Jack Quaid. The film is about two sets of couples, one famous and the other not, and Meghan Markle plays the role of herself. 

While it sounds glamorous, Sean described the production in a much worse light. He argued that this is not a big comeback in Hollywood, but rather a move to regain lost fame. “No payment. Absolutely no payment whatsoever,” he said, suggesting that the Duchess is only going to be paid for her cameo’s personal expenses.

If that’s true, then Sean felt that it simply shows her lowered market value as an actress. According to Sean’s sources, the filmmakers like the label of ‘Meghan Markle’ to benefit from search engine traffic. Mostly, that’s because of her time she acted in Suits.

Of course, it wouldn’t hurt to also throw in the “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” which she allegedly insists on. In Neil’s view, without her royal marriage, he sees the whole thing as Meghan “leveraging her royal links because without them she equals zero.”

Trading Off A Royal Connection

Following news about the Netflix projects allegedly coming to a halt, the royal commentator talked about the real story behind it all. In fact, he believes that there’s very much an identity brawl going on unseen in the wings.

The royal family expert also feels that “nobody gives a fig about anything else she’s doing” and that her royal link is her main trade. According to him, the late Queen Elizabeth grasped that from the very beginning.

Although Meghan Markle was on Suits, her total screen time apparently didn’t amount to much. So, one critic opined, “‘Returning to acting’. One needs to have had an actual career in something before being able to ‘return’ to that profession.”
