Kate Middleton currently struggles with a medical crisis, forced to cancel her royal engagements. And her husband Prince William has done the same, along with King Charles.
As a result, some have wished that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had stayed in the UK and never stepped down, so they could help.
But a new report reveals that Meghan never intended to pull her weight or do any royal family duties. Get all the details below, including how an expert blames Meghan for her impact on Harry’s exit.
Meghan Markle Never Wanted Royal Duties
Amid health crises, the royal family has faced a dramatic challenge this week. The three most well-known and popular members all have become sidelined.

First came Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, in the hospital after a mystery abdominal surgery that insiders told Page Six is “major.”
And with Kate forced to postpone her royal engagements, Prince William also became sidelined so that he could care for her and their three children. But soon after the news about Kate, Buckingham Palace revealed that King Charles, 75, would undergo a procedure for an enlarged prostate.
And that leaves Queen Camilla, 76, as the only one of the four most senior royals on public duties. As a result, many speculated how different life would have been for the royal family if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had never stepped down from their royal duties.
But insiders claim that the Duchess of Sussex never intended to perform any of those public responsibilities that the royal family must do.
Prince Harry Could Have Dominated
And amid the health crisis of the royal family, 5,000 miles away Prince Harry puttered around his mansion in Montecito with his wife, Meghan Markle, their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, their dogs and brood of rescue chickens. However, experts point out that if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had stayed in the UK, they would have become the public faces of the British royal family.
And for Harry, it would have meant becoming a Counsellor of State, a member of the royal family who can fill in for the monarch. One insider noted, “A situation like this would have given them a clear runway to dominate the coordinated family schedule.”
But although some thought that Meghan too could have become adored by stepping in for Princess Kate, Hugo Vickers, royal historian and friend of the royal family, denied that speculation. And Vickers claimed, “Meghan Markle had no intention of pulling her weight. She surely had a little plan from the start, which did not include being a hard working supportive member of the royal family.”
And Vickers also blamed Meghan for Prince Harry quitting his duties as a senior royal. “Harry got on well with his family before he married,” stated the royal historian. “Afterwards? I rest my case.”
