Previously, there was speculation that Meghan was indeed writing the captions on the Sussex Royal’s account simply because many of the words had the Americanized spelling rather than the British spelling in them. Also, the style of the account seems to differ than that of the Royal Family and Kensington Palace’s official accounts.
Yet, the fact that Sussex Royal posted a photo on Mother’s Day in America seems to have everyone convinced that yes, Meghan is in control! The Duchess of Sussex might be living full-time in the U.K. these days, but she’s still a very proud American and California girl who will never forget her roots.
Meghan wrote on Instagram, “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you.Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe.”
Seeing how we already have a photo of Archie’s feet (a social media staple that many new moms love to share), there’s a good chance that we might be seeing more of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with their newborn baby in the coming weeks. At least, that’s what we are hoping for. Fingers crossed!
For now, it looks like Meghan Markle will be spending the next several weeks at home in Frogmore Cottage for the rest of her maternity leave. Her mother Doria Ragland is reportedly with her and won’t be returning to Los Angeles until the end of the summer. There’s no doubt that both Meghan and Doria enjoyed their Mother’s Day together – Meghan’s first as a royal mom and Doria as a grandmother. How sweet!
