Prince Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, the new movie based on Megxit, will premiere this fall. The first glimpses at the trailer portrays the Sussex couple’s retreat from royal life, with the bittersweet message that not all fairytales have the perfect ending.

Lifetime has released its first teaser for Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace on Instagram this Wednesday, and it presents a series of flashes showcasing the couple’s controversial last few years. It was previously reimagined for television as Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance in 2018 and in 2019 as Becoming Royal.

The first detail presented in the trailer is the anguish felt by Prince Harry (played by Jordan Dean in the upcoming Lifetime movie) as he is constantly torn between performing his royal duties and standing by his wife, Meghan (played by Sydney Morton).

In the teaser, Harry wakes up in a cold sweat and says to Meghan, “I see you literally being hounded to death, and I’m powerless to stop it.”

In real life, Prince Harry has been candid and vulnerable about his life as a royal, especially as they took a turn when he met, fell in love and married former actress Meghan Markle, 39. He once admitted that the stories run by the British Media about his wife Meghan makes her cry.

For Her part, Meghan Says Exasperatedly, “I Am The Person Who Is Strong And Gets Things Right.”

Escaping the Palace will focus on Harry and Meghan’s struggles under the weight of scrutiny by the media, including Harry’s mental instabilities about how incessant media attention led to the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

In March, Harry presented most of these concerns to the world in the explosive sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, a recreation of which also appears in the teaser.
