Amid the excitement in finally seeing baby Lilibet for the very first time in a formal photo, fans speculated about Meghan Markle getting pregnant again. But some might want to recall what Prince Harry previously stated about his views on an ideal family size. 

Not long after the Duke of Sussex joyfully welcomed his son Archie into the world in spring 2019, Harry dished up his vision for his family, per New Idea. Harry promised conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall during an interview that he and Meghan would help save the environment by having fewer children.

“Two, maximum!” vowed the Duke. And the 37-year-old husband of Meghan Markle emphasized that point so much that some thought Harry had thrown shade at his brother Prince William. William and Kate Middleton parent three children and reportedly consider baby number four.

Royal family insiders claim that Meghan Markle may have persuaded Prince Harry to forget about that two-child pledge. And one source even revealed that the Duchess of Sussex has concocted a pregnancy plan. “Harry and Meghan have done a lot of soul-searching about this,” shared the insider. “They feel they can contribute more positively to the world by raising smart, informed children who will go on to be the same into adulthood.”

As for the Duke of Sussex’s promise about two children? The source also shared that Meghan and Harry agree that the benefits of adding another baby to the world trump the negatives. “They feel the positives of that outweigh the risks to the climate,” summed up the insider.

When Does Duchess Want To Get Pregnant?

But despite those pregnancy rumors, the Duchess of Sussex wants to wait a few months. Given that Archie is 2 and his sister Lilibet will soon celebrate her 7-month birthday, Meghan reportedly sees summer as the ideal time to start working on getting pregnant. As a result, the Duchess allegedly plans to begin undergoing IVF when Lili celebrates her first birthday in June. However, that plan is dependent on if the 40-year-old feels the time is right to wean her daughter onto a bottle rather than breast feed. 

Ultimately, say the insiders, Meghan doesn’t feel ready to put her child-bearing years behind her. “Meghan absolutely loves watching Harry with Archie and Lili. He’s a natural-born father and, despite it all, when he’s with his kids it’s the happiest he’s ever been,” added one source. “Meghan can’t bear that this is the last she’ll see of him with a newborn. Plus, ever since Lilibet arrived, Archie has been asking for a baby brother – and neither Meghan nor Harry can ever say no to him!”
