Find out why Markle reportedly wants to make a major move with Prince Harry and their children. And learn which areas the Duchess views as prime targets below.
Meghan Markle Wants To Move: Prince Harry ‘Blindsided’!
Prince Harry first met Meghan Markle in 2016. And a whirlwind romance followed, with the then-actress making a major move from Toronto to London. But ever since, Meghan has struggled to find the perfect home, royal family insiders told New Idea.
Like Goldilocks trying out all of the three bears’ beds, the Duchess of Sussex has experimented with Kensington Palace, Frogmore Cottage, Vancouver Island, and her pal actor Tyler Perry’s Hollywood home. And Meghan finally seemed to have found her dream home in her current $20 million Montecito mansion. But since moving in 19 months ago, Meghan reportedly has told Prince Harry she wants to move again.
As a result, one insider described the Duke of Sussex as “blindsided. They have everything they could ever want on their estate, including a playground for the kids and a tennis court. He’s struggling to see why she’s unsatisfied.”
Duchess of Sussex Plans ‘Prime Property Palace’
But although Prince Harry’s bewilderment allegedly has sparked tension with his wife, Meghan remains calm, say the sources. And the Duchess has hatched a plan to sell their mansion, then build her own Palace. Markle reportedly seeks “prime property” in two specific locations.
First, Meghan has looked to Palm Springs. Famed for housing celebrities like Kris Jenner and Cindy Crawford, Palm Springs could provide the ideal new home. Markle reportedly has even investigated Palm Springs’ Madison Club estates.
Second, the Duchess of Sussex has expressed interest in Hidden Hills. This gated Los Angeles community boasts a “super private and ultra-exclusive” environment, says a real estate insider. “The lots alone sell for around $2 million. It’s no wonder the residents are rich and famous types like the Kardashians, who are looking for privacy on spectacular mountaintops, but within driving distance of Hollywood.”
And Meghan reportedly will not surrender vision of her dream home, revealed another source. “She has a very grand vision and is laser-focused on the plans for this home,” added the insider. And the source even described the Duchess of Sussex as dreaming of “her very own Buckingham Palace” in California. But the insider also cautioned about rising prices. Will Prince Harry agree to shell out big bucks for a U.S.-based version of the Palace?!
