Everybody keeps ranting about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s desire for privacy. A multitude of reports from a myriad of publications with headlines screaming about Meghan and Harry’s “pain,” and “fear” at being constantly thrust into the limelight have hit the shelves for literally years now. However, the facts concerning Meghan and Harry’s actions don’t seem to support these breathless claims.

Of course, fans of the British royal family know that Prince William and Prince Harry have a deep-seated distaste for paparazzi. This is thanks to the latter’s behavior and involvement in the death of Prince William and Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. There is no question that in this case, the pain and fear the gross, yellow journalism on display by British tabloids at the time absolutely caused Prince William and Prince Harry to shun the media.

This can’t be said for Meghan Markle, however. While she may have had a hard time of it in Great Britain following her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan has never been one to scream for solitude or to hide away from the public eye.

Now, however, there are claims coming from yet another tabloid quoting former agents on Harry and Meghan’s security detail. According to this individual, who is apparently an “insider” with real, in-depth knowledge of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan will never find the privacy “they crave.” Harry and Meghan won’t ever get the peace and quiet they yearn for. Meghan and Harry are doomed never to frolic unmolested by reporters or fans in the fairy forests of the Tuatha Dé Danann.

Indeed, Meghan and Harry must perpetually be followed by a security detail to ensure they are not kidnapped, murdered, or have some other horrible things happen to them. Now, that is a very real reality that shouldn’t be dismissed by fans of Harry and Meghan … but this fantasy about the couple’s lust for tooling around L.A. like everyday, normal folk? Please.

If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex truly desired privacy, one could argue that they would have left the Monarchy behind in an effort to find lives and obscure professions in a remote location of the world. There would be no bets that Meghan might one day run for the presidency of the United States. There would not be thousands of videos of Meghan Markle detailing in excruciating detail the talents and achievements she believes she’s reached entirely by herself.

Now, the truth is that Meghan and Harry’s very lifestyle belies the repeated claims of a need for privacy. Ever since leaving the U.K. and arriving in Los Angeles, Meghan’s been busy putting her face out there in media as often as humanly possible. Meghan’s been taking meetings with film producers, agents, casting directors, etc. and all in an attempt to get back on the silver screen. If anyone believes that’s not Meghan taking a megaphone and screaming that she wants public attention … they’re actually living in that fantasy forest instead of the real world, right now.

Then there’s the fact that both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have just signed with the Harry Walker Agency in New York. This is a firm dedicated to providing celebrity speakers for various public events, etc. That means Meghan and Harry are going to be making very public, overt, and widespread appearances.
Many fans of the British royals just might agree that’s not very private.
