Maybe she should just stick to acting at this point? Meghan Markle is once again being slammed for being a poor business woman and its all because she was forced to make a U-turn with her lifestyle brand. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Meghan Markle Slammed For Her Being A Poor Business Woman
The Duchess of Sussex is being criticized for making a ‘bad faulty start’ with her lifestyle brand. She was forced to change the name from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever at the very last minute.
Brand and culture expert Nick Ede thinks that Meghan just made one of the biggest mistakes that anyone can make right before they try and launch their new business.
He put this way, “It’s a pretty big issue. If you’re going to be doing a deal with Netflix – making millions for yourself, but also for somebody else…”
“So this huge faux pas where you’ve literally [sent out] your jams with the label saying American Riviera Orchard, and you’ve also created an Instagram site and a website.”
Ede continued, “That’s a really big business issue, and because it’s being played publicly, obviously so many people are discussing it and it really looks like the business has flopped before it’s even [launched].”

If that weren’t enough, he also added that it’s “crazy” for a brand to change direction like this, especially since it hasn’t even been released yet.
Meghan explained on Instagram that she would have been limited to selling things that were only made in her area if she had stuck with her original American Riviera Orchard branding.
Back in 2024, Meghan did give fans a little hint of what was to come, but never had any of her American Riviera Orchard products for sale to the public.
Ede said, “So it just feels like a really bad faulty start that she had and hopefully this new rebrand will do well, but I think time will tell.”
So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the criticism she’s received.

“Meghan explained on Instagram that she would have been limited to selling things that were only made in her area if she had stuck with her original American Riviera Orchard branding.” We all know that , if she ever does put these products out there, that they won’t be made in America, and certainly won’t come from her “orchard”.
