Meghan Markle recently debuted her long-anticipated podcast. But not everyone agreed on its value. For instance, some felt that the Duchess of Sussex succeeded in revealing her true self in her chat.
But one royal family expert insists that the podcast shows Meghan feels so thirsty for attention that she views her life as a soap opera. And that means that listeners can expect Markle to devote future episodes to every detail of her life. Learn more below.
Meghan Markle Assumes Everyone Wants Details Of Her Life?
The Duchess of Sussex spent her professional career in the spotlight, playing Rachel Zane in Suits. And from there, Meghan met Harry, once again embracing the spotlight in her new role as a royal family member. But Markle has hinted that she feels the royal family forced her to pretend to be someone else. And so she created her podcast.
However, not everyone thought that Meghan’s podcast debut scored a win. And one royal family expert, former Conservative British politician David Mellor, mocked the Duchess of Sussex’s chat, according to MSN. After listening to her podcast, Mellor claimed that Meghan has decided to transform “her life into a soap [opera].”
Titled Archetypes, the podcast consists of a collaboration with Spotify. But though it represents a portion of a multi-million dollar content creation deal, Markle’s personal comments in her first chat disappointed Mellor. “She’s turning her life into a soap [opera] and she’s a soap actress so why wouldn’t she?” Mellor asked.
“Basically, it’s a sort of crazy world which she inhabits where she assumes that everyone is totally fascinated by every little detail either of her current life or of her past life,” he added. And the politician also hinted that he does not believe all that Meghan states. He claimed that she “doesn’t mind whether it’s true or not.”
Meghan Markle Felt Disappointed In Royal Family Reality: Here’s Why!
Mellor also shared that he actually approved of Meghan when she came on board the royal family. But he thinks that she strayed when she wanted to become like Princess Diana without doing so much work. “Personally, when Meghan Markle came into the royal family, I thought this was a good thing,” he said. “And that it would be good that a woman of color should be a part of the royal family and that it would make the royal family seem to embrace larger sections of the community.”

But Mellor criticized Meghan for thinking she could become as famous and beloved as Princess Diana immediately. And he admitted that much of the royal family’s responsibilities involve dull tasks rather than glamour. However, Rachel Johnson disagreed. A broadcaster who also is Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s sister, Rachel criticized all the negative coverage in the media. “I don’t think that she does get necessarily very fair treatment,” summed up Johnson.

I was so hopeful when Meghan joined the royals. I thought finally here comes someone who part of the UK and Commonwealth can hopefully identify fully with and feel represented. It seemed the Queen hoped so too because she seemed to really try harder with Meghan than she did with Kate in their early stages of them both becoming royals. I think it is probably Meghans attitude towards her new position that was the reason it didn’t work out and thats ok. The public understands being a royal and representing the UK and Commonwealth can come with tremendous responsibility, requires rules of behavior and enormous dedication to serving Queen and countries in an intelligent and professional manner. I just don’t think Meghan was the right fit for being a senior working royal and ambassador for Queen and county. She would probably have been better suited to marrying Hollywood royalty like Will S or Leonard D or someone.
