Meghan Markle perhaps didn’t expect that she would spend her first Mother’s Day this way, but neither did millions of other mothers across the UK right now either. The Duchess of Sussex celebrated Mother’s Day in self-isolation with her husband Prince Harry and their 10-month-old son Archie Harrison in Canada. Meghan Markle Spends First UK Mother’s Day With Archie In Canada
Unlike her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle didn’t share any throwback photos or new photos of her and her son Archie. Instead, she gave a special ‘shout out’ to all of the ‘mums’ and ‘moms’ and even ‘grannies’ and ‘nans’ out there who dedicate their lives to their children.
The Sussexes captioned the Instagram post with, “No matter what you call your mum, this Mother’s Day in the UK, we honor the mums all over the world who do so much every single day, and now more than ever. Thank you.”
One of the reasons why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted not to show a new photo of their son Archie is because they want to keep him out of the spotlight. In fact, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the shocking announcement that they wanted to live a much simpler life by becoming financially-independent royals. Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth made it clear that when it comes to the firm, you are either in or you are out and that’s why Harry and Meghan made the difficult decision to move to Canada to start a new life with their family in North America.
