For years, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have battled. And rumors repeatedly have claimed that the Duchess of Sussex feels jealous of Princess Kate.

But Prince William’s wife and Prince Harry’s wife haven’t managed a civil relationship ever since Meghan slammed the royal family in interviews, noted Geo.

And one key event reveals why Meghan envies Kate so much. It dates back to the Duchess of Sussex noticing Princess Kate stealing the spotlight at public events.

For instance, Kate stood out at a mental health awareness event. But Meghan felt that she should receive such public opportunities, viewing herself as a better speaker.

And the Duchess of Sussex also felt jealous of Kate’s image. Meghan “regarded herself as a philanthropist who could teach the royals a thing or two about charity,” said an insider.

But despite her best efforts at shining in the spotlight, Meghan had to accept that Kate’s position in the royal family was much higher than her own. And beyond that, the Duchess of Sussex faced the fact that as Prince Harry’s wife, she would never become the Queen like Kate.

However, some think that Meghan’s jealousy of Kate becomes even more clear with the publication of her buddy Omid Scobie’s book Endgame.

The book infamously named Kate as one of the so-called “royal racists” who allegedly questioned the color of Meghan’s son’s skin, asking “how dark” the baby would appear.

And on Reddit, some agreed that “it’s quite clear that Meghan has definitely endorsed this attack on Kate’s character.” Reflecting on the book’s attack on Kate, some feel that Omid penned the book to make it seem that Kate failed in her supposed “responsibility to look after Meghan’s mental health.”

And one critic noted, “The only reason that Meghan wants to damage Kate’s character is pure jealousy and this book is proving that.” Others agreed that the Duchess of Sussex has felt envious of Princess Kate for years. “The real target of all her drama and wrath was and is always Kate,” wrote one royal family observer.

And another noted that Meghan seems to possess a “sheer obsession” and even “malice” against Kate, starting a “vendetta” that appears “scary and alarming” in Meghan’s “one-sided jealousy.” But others feel that Meghan became jealous because she feels “inadequate” when she compares herself to Kate.

And another noted that Princess Kate “has everything that Megs doesn’t. A loving family, confidence, kindness on and on. They haven’t spoken in four years. This tornado of chaos they keep stirring up is about things that happened over four years ago. Any person you know, if they are still obsessed with something that happened years ago, you’d advise them to let it go, move on, and get past it. But Meghan gets paid and is encouraged by her husband, her friends, and her loony squad to keep going after one person. It’s unhinged.”
