Royal family rumors have soared that Meghan Markle will appear on Real Housewives. And now a publicist has offered insights on whether the Duchess of Sussex wants to head to the reality TV world for a career shift.
But as discussed below, Meghan herself has thrown shade at Real Housewives fans. Keep reading to learn more.
Andy Cohen Wants Meghan Markle On Real Housewives
At the Bravo fan convention known as BravoCon, Andy Cohen recently revealed that he wants Meghan Markle, 42, to join Real Housewives. And Cohen said via MSN, “If we can get Meghan Markle, that would be interesting.”
However, the Duchess of Sussex resides in Montecito, California. And that means she would face a long drive for the two other California Real Housewives shows, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and the Real Housewives of Orange County.
However, Cohen could conceivably want Meghan enough to create a new Real Housewives of Montecito show. But Andy and Meghan became involved in such a dialogue previously.
Meghan Markle Throws Shade At Real Housewives Fans
When Andy Cohen joined Meghan Markle on her podcast, she confessed that she once enjoyed watching Real Housewives.
And she described herself as “such a Housewives fan” in the past. However, then the Duchess of Sussex threw shade at those who watch the show.
And Meghan shared she now feels that only those without interesting lives watch Real Housewives. “I stopped watching the Housewives when my life had its own level of drama that I stopped craving [other people’s],” announced the Duchess of Sussex.
And when Cohen offered to create a reality TV show for her, Meghan informed him, “There will be no reality show.”
However, publicist and celebrity manager Mayah Riaz thinks that the Duchess of Sussex might one day give in.
Meghan Markle Could Fit In With RHOBH
“Meghan has high profile celebrity friends,” pointed out Riaz.”If one of them were cast members, it’s possible she may make a one-off guest appearance. But it’d likely be drama free and perhaps a scene where she is catching up with the cast member over lunch.”
And the PR expert noted the pros and cons of Meghan signing up for reality TV. “On one hand, it could make her appear more relatable and approachable to a wider audience, humanizing her public image.
However, it may also be perceived as a departure from her previous roles and responsibilities, potentially diminishing her credibility and the perception of her elite status.
Ultimately, it would depend on how she navigates the platform and the narrative she chooses to present.”
But if Meghan does decide to experiment with Real Housewives, the Beverly Hills show might offer a match.
Actresses Denise Richards and Garcelle Beauvais both star on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH). And for the Duchess of Sussex, the show could offer her a chance to build up her brand or publicize her causes.
