What could be worse than earning the label of Hollywood’s Biggest Loser? Starting a New Year with a huge humiliation. Well, make that an onslaught of humiliations!

About one week into 2024, the Golden Globes host Jo Koy targeted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for his jokes, per the News. And from mocking Harry’s financial failures to omitting the Duchess’ title, Koy won laughter at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s co-star on Suits Gina Torres revealed why Markle doesn’t participate in the legal drama cast’s group chat: No one has (or apparently even bothered to go to the effort of extracting) Meghan’s phone number.

But the real humiliation comes from the fact that the four-year anniversary of Meghan’s and Prince Harry’s exit from the royal family (known as Megxit) just occurred. And when Meghan and Harry quit their senior royal roles, they boasted about their plans to become superstars in their post-royal lives. However, that’s not quite what happened.

And Golden Globe host Koy summed up Meghan’s and Harry’s failures since Megxit in his monologue. “Turns out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will still get paid millions of dollars for doing absolutely nothing,” he mocked. “And that’s just by Netflix.”

But later, Koy joked, “How great was Imelda Staunton in The Crown, wasn’t she amazing? The portrayal of the Queen was so good Prince Harry called her and asked her for money.”

And after a year when Meghan lost her podcast, became known as a Hollywood loser, and “grifter,” Markle reportedly rejected the opportunity to stand on the Golden Globes stage with the rest of the Suits cast. Another day, another missed opportunity by the Duchess of Sussex.

And looking back to 2020, even experts predicted that Meghan’s and Harry’s royal exit known as Megxit would see the Duchess and Duke of Sussex succeeding as superstars in Hollywood.

For instance, some thought that Meghan would become a film star. And others thought that Harry seemed posed to profit from heading up non-profit organizations. But all those predictions failed to turn into reality.

And instead, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex went from making headlines praising the couple to social media mocking the duo.
