Meghan Markle Will NOT Be Returning To “Suits,” Here’s Why
There’s been a lot of excitement surrounding rumors that a “Suits” reboot may be happening, and even more excitement when it was hinted that a certain actress turned Duchess may be returning. How truthful are these rumors exactly?
Well, a source close to said Duchess just revealed her plans for the future, and no, returning to play Rachel Zane is not one of them.
Meghan Markle Is Reportedly Eyeing Million Dollar Commercial Deals With Luxury Brands
You may have heard that Meghan Markle has signed to WME, a major Hollywood agency, for representation, and it may have given you the idea that she may be getting back onscreen in the near future.
It did not help either that rumors quickly followed that she may be resuming her acting career by appearing on the much-anticipated sequel to Whitney Houston’s 1992 hit movie, “The Bodyguard.”
And as if that wasn’t enough, news of “The Suits” reboot started making the rounds on the internet.
To add smoke to the fire, Kevin Costner, who starred as bodyguard Frank Farmer in the iconic film, reportedly pitched the idea of creating a follow-up movie “The Bodyguard” to Meghan. At this time, it was starting to seem as if the stars were aligning.
Meghan Is A Box Office Hit
“The only thing Kevin loves more than an underdog like Meghan is a box office hit,” a source revealed to Australia’s New Idea Magazine.
Sadly, there’s only a slight snag in that perfect plan, and it is that Meghan has no plans whatsoever of returning to work as an actor, despite signing deals with streaming giant Netflix.
“She doesn’t want to direct or act,” a source close to the Duchess of Sussex told Page Six this Monday, August 8.
Her focus at the moment and for the foreseeable future is to produce shows that are educational and inspirational. She’s also hoping to land contracts with luxury brands.
At one point, she eyed a deal with luxury fashion house Cartier, but the plan fell through as Cartier reportedly had second thoughts of signing her, in fear of alienating the royal family. And they’ve been Cartier clients for over 100 years.
In June, Dior denied reports that they signed the former actress. At the moment, she’s yet to land a deal, but hey, that’s why she signed to WME.
