5 Times Samantha Markle Might Have Been Right About Sister Meghan Markle

Samantha Markle might not have spoken to her sister, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex for many years now, but she’s still keeping tabs on her royal life every day. In fact, Samantha has been a very vocal critic of her half-sister ever since she announced her engagement to Prince Harry back in 2017.

While a lot of things Samantha has said in the past were certainly controversial, some royal critics think that other times she was spot on. Here are five times that Samantha might have possibly been right about Meghan Markle before fans even got to know Prince Harry’s royal wife.

Meghan Markle’s Estrangement From The Markle Family

The only person from Meghan Markle’s side of the family to attend her royal wedding to Prince Harry back in 2017 was her mother, Doria Ragland. There was no one else from Doria’s side of the family, nor was there anyone from Thomas Markle’s side of the family, either. In fact, Meghan’s father had to cancel his trip to London at the last minute, citing health problems.

According to Samantha Markle, it’s been many long years since they last spoke. She’s even accused Meghan of ghosting the family. Fast-forward a few years later and Meghan and Harry are no longer working members of the royal family and instead are living their own lives separately and away from everyone remotely related to them, with mom Doria being the one exception.

Meghan Markle’s Questionable Upbringing

Meghan claims that she worked her way to the top and that she supposedly worked her way through college, too. However, that might not be totally accurate. Meghan Markle went to a prestigious private Catholic high school in Los Angeles and also went on to get her degree at Northwestern University in Chicago. Apparently, Meghan’s father Thomas Markle helped pay her tuition at both schools. During an appearance with the TLC Network’s show, When Harry Met Meghan, Samantha put it this way, “The tabloids wanted to create this African-American, rags-to-riches Cinderella story, which is so far from reality.”

But Samantha MarkleDid Take The Blame For Their Father’s Gaffe

While Meghan Markle is yet to make any comments about her relationship woes with her family, at least Samantha is able to admit when she was wrong or at least take the blame for a controversial stunt that involved their father. Back in 2018, Thomas Markle made headlines for apparently staging a photo op with a paparazzo, which didn’t go over very well with the palace.

Just a few short days before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, Samantha tweeted out, “The bad press over my father doing staged photos is my fault. The media was unfairly making him look bad so I suggested he do positive photos for his benefit and the benefit of the royal family. We had no idea he would be taken advantage of.”

She’s Made Plenty Of Warnings

With Megxit being the seismic announcement that it was back in January, it’s safe to say that everyone was shocked to hear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be pulling the plug on their working relationship with the royal family. Well, Samantha was warning us this would happen all along. According to UK’s Standard, Samantha said, “The Royal Family would be appalled by what she’s done to her own family. The truth would kill her relationship with Prince Harry, he wouldn’t want to date her anymore because it puts her in a bad public light. I certainly don’t think Harry or his family would want to associate with her afterward.

Meghan Markle, Hollywood Princess

While no one really knows what goes on behind closed doors at Kensington Palace, Samantha has long said that Meghan Markle is someone who dreamed of not only being a Hollywood star but a princess, too. Well, she certainly made both wishes come true. Samantha told The Sun in 2017, “Hollywood has changed her. I think her ambition is to become a princess. It was something she dreamed of as a girl when we watched the royals on TV. She always preferred Harry — she has a soft spot for gingers.”
