Reese Witherspoon And Meghan Markle The Dream Ticket America Needs In 2024?

Reese WitherspoonLegally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon is the latest celeb who thinks a run for politics sounds like fun. And why not, lots of US presidents were lawyers, playing one in the movies is just as good, right?

The Brentwood, California celeb could team up with Montecito’s own Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex for a presidential run but would the ticket be big enough for two Hollywood egos?

Let’s be fair though, after her 2013 arrest for getting wild with a Georgia State Trooper and yelling, “Do you know my name? You’re about to find out who I am…you’re about to be on national news,” she’s got the whole embarrassing scandal thing down.

Reese Witherspoon Would Consider Running For President But Does Meghan Markle Have Time To Be Her VP?

Witherspoon, who is set to star in Legally Blonde 43 soon, appeared on the Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes’ SmartLess podcast when talk turned from her A-game acting career to what else, politics.

We think the co-hosts could have been seriously pranking the blonde bombshell when they told her that she would be a good politician and would easily win votes, but she piped up, “I wouldn’t say because I don’t know where I’m going to be when I’m, you know, 65.”

Then again she could have been punking them because she also said about a political run, “Yeah, our standards have become very low in this country.”

Is The World Ready For Another Actor In The White House?

But if you’re panicking and Googling “visas” right now in anticipation of a President Witherspoon administration, please stop. The sweet-talking southerner made it known that as of today she’s still passionate about acting and producing.

On a serious note (we think) Witherspoon also talked about the importance of electing more women into United States government roles for increased representation and balance.

She added, “Women are 50 percent of the population, but we’re not 50 percent of the representation in government – which is bizarre – particularly when they’re adjudicating over our bodies.”

She also noted “the lack of representation of people of color who make up a large, almost majority of this country.”

Maybe it’s just something in the water since a slew of other celebs have also recently talked up the possibility of cashing in a once-hot acting career for politics: How about Senator Alec Baldwin or Vice President Rob Lowe? That’s what I thought.
