What’s the big deal you say, Meghan and Prince Harry have dragged his family for eons now? They’ve become synonymous with royal bullying so why is The Prince causing heartburn? Let’s take a look at why the show is so controversial.
Why Is The Prince Controversial?
For starters, nothing is off-limits in the show inspired by Gary Janetti’s Instagram account. Orlando Bloom and Sophie Turner voice characters and the show looks at the fictionalized life of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s 8-year-old son, Prince George.
Remember folks, this is a tv show, ie, entertainment. It is not real life. On the show George tries to get Live With Kelly and Ryan host Kelly Ripa (Ex Hayley Santos, All My Children) to follow him on Instagram.
There are 12 episodes which were released this week and along the way George tortures his butler, is jealous of his younger sister Charlotte and sucks up to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth whom he will one day succeed as king of England.
Prince George Is The Subject Of A Cartoon
In a hilarious scene Meghan Markle joins Real Housewives of Beverly Hills because she can’t get a real job and Kate is a fan of mommy wine time. “Excuse me, I’m late for an appointment,” Middleton says in one scene. “I didn’t think the pubs were open yet,” William replies.
None of this sounds so outrageous as to inspire the angst being lobbed about by critics of the show. So what if Kate imbibes? She has acknowledged the occasional tipple, that doesn’t make her an AA candidate. And hello, have the critics not heard of sibling rivalry, it’s a thing.
The Prince Is Making Waves
Meghan Markle and Harry are actually treated with kid gloves considering their reputation for throwing trash at their family. In The Prince the couple is forced to live in an LA apartment and Harry is shown not knowing what the inside of a refrigerator looks like. Why would he? He grew up a pampered prince who didn’t know how to make a bed until he joined the military. Fact.
So what is the big deal about a cartoon about the royals? Many are mad that the show focuses on an actual real child. They must have missed the memo about the difference between cartoon life and real life. They are not the same. Everybody knows this (don’t they?).
