So, is she going to call him or not? That’s what a lot of royalists on both sides of the pond can’t help but wonder when it comes to Meghan Markle and her current relationship with her father, Thomas Markle.

It was reported earlier in the week that Meghan was trying to reach out to her father, who is currently in a hospital in the Philippines. He had to have his leg amputated in an emergency surgery.

Well, it was also reported that Meghan didn’t directly call her father, but she did apparently reach out to the American consulate in the country. But now there’s a report that says the Duchess of Sussex wrote a handwritten letter, which has finally reached Thomas in the hospital.

A spokesperson for Meghan released a statement that even said: “Given that a Daily Mail reporter has remained at her father’s bedside throughout, broadcasting each interaction and breaching clear ethical boundaries, it has been exceedingly difficult for the Duchess to contact her father privately, despite her efforts over the past several days.”

What’s Really Going On With Thomas Markle?

“With the support of reliable and trusted contacts, her correspondence is now safely in his hands.”

This comes after Thomas Markle himself said that he wants to repair his fractured relationship with his daughter and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.

He said, “I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids and Harry.”

Now, whether or not Meghan and her husband Prince Harry will actually travel to the Philippines to see Thomas in the hospital remains to be seen.

Meghan has been estranged from her father since 2018, when he was caught staging a paparazzi shoot right before her royal wedding. They have not spoken to each other since then.
