During her engagement to Prince Harry, Markle reportedly requested free clothes and handbags from the Spice-Girl-turned-fashion-designer, only to have the request denied by Buckingham Palace.

This incident, detailed in Tom Bower’s new book “The House of Beckham,” led to a fallout between Markle and David and Victoria Beckham.

Despite once being close enough to stay at the Beckhams’ Beverly Hills home, Markle’s trust in Victoria was shattered when she suspected the designer of leaking stories to the press.

According to Bower, during Markle’s engagement to Prince Harry, a member of Victoria Beckham’s team recommended beauty treatments in London.

Bower highlights the downfall of the friendship, which occurred right after The Sun exposed Victoria’s makeup advice, also mentioning Meghan was particularly affected by the media’s intrusive investigation into her unconventional background.

According to Bower, Harry received an order to express his dissatisfaction to David Beckham; this led the former soccer star to question Victoria about how The Sun obtained the gossip.

Victoria reportedly denied leaking the information and instead blamed a beautician-the tension between the two couples escalated, partly fueled by Markle’s apparent jealousy towards the Beckhams’ wealth.

She was also apparently jealous of their access to luxurious amenities like private jets and yachts, the situation reaching its peak when Markle allegedly ignored the Beckhams at her wedding.

Although the Beckhams attended the event, Bower claims Victoria, aged 50, felt “insulted” that she and David, aged 49, were not invited to a dinner attended by celebrities including George Clooney.

British Royals Family News – Markle Continued Showing Her Support For Victoria.

Markle has consistently demonstrated her backing for Victoria by wearing items from her fashion line on various occasions, despite the perceived snubs of the former Spice Girl.

For instance, she donned a coat from Victoria’s collection during Christmas in 2018 and another piece at the Commonwealth Day Service in Westminster Abbey the following year. Despite this, it seems that Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the Beckhams remains tense.

Reports suggest that the couple was not included in the guest list for the extravagant Palm Beach wedding of David and Victoria’s son, Brooklyn Beckham, to Nicola Peltz in 2022.

Or, perhaps the Beckhams just didn’t think Meghan would want to fly across the pond to her former country of residence.
