“You lose friends”, the 41-year-old writes, but “better friends come along”.
Jessica Mulroney Talks About Friendship
Mulroney’s new message could possibly be hinting that her friendship with the former senior royal Meghan Markle is still going downhill a year after the two had a public falling out.
The Canada native reposted an inspirational message about losing friends and moving on to find better blessings ahead on her Instagram Story this Sunday.
“Life changes,” the passage read. “You lose love. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone.”
She didn’t add any commentary of her own, but some assumed that the quote was geared toward her struggling relationship with her long-time friend Meghan Markle, 39. Both women were once very close, but hit a hard time in their friendship after Mulroney engaged in a racially charged feud with blogger Sasha Exeter.
Meghan Markle’s Strained Friendship With Her Long-Time Bestie
After the So Sasha founder called Mulroney out for her “textbook white privilege” via Instagram at the time, the TV personality threatened a libel lawsuit.
She later apologized, referencing the hurt her friend Meghan Markle has lived through in her statement, “[I] lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and centre.”
An insider disclosed to US Weekly that the Duchess was none too happy about her friend including her name in the narrative.
“Meghan could not get over that Jessica brought up her relationship with Meghan when she commented about her ‘closest friend’ in the discourse with Sasha,” the insider shared at the time. “That was hugely offensive to Meghan and the deciding factor for her. Meghan considers the relationship to be done.”
A second source admitted that the former pals’ relationship was “less strong before this drama went down”, adding that Markle “is being very cautious with her affiliations.”
The backlash that resulted from the drama with Exeter cost Mulroney her CTV reality show I Do, Redo and her roles as a contributor on Good Morning America.
Mulroney still continued to show support and love for her friend Meghan Markle after that, without a return of affection from the other side.
She later made her account private after receiving criticisms from social media and has deleted a couple of her old posts.
“People often ask why I delete certain posts,” she shared on her Instagram Stories on September 8. “The amount of bullying and hatred I’ve had to put up with for 3 years…. I’m tired of looking at it.”
“Be kind. Be gracious. We are grown-ups… stop acting like teenagers. Real women don’t put down other women,” Mulroney added.
