Royal Family News – Melania And Donald Trump Met The Late Queen
As royal fans know, the monarchy is steeped in tradition and this means that there are copious rules and regulations to follow when meeting them.
Is it any wonder that former super model Melania breezed through her meeting with the royals while The Donald wasn’t as socially adept?
White House official Stephanie Grisham told CNN in 2019 that posh and polished Melania “spends a significant amount of time preparing for every trip.”
“This includes protocol briefings, event memos, logistics, speech preparation when applicable, and research and selection for the gift exchange.”
Royal News – When The Trumps Met The Royals
The former First Lady was an international model and is fluent in Slovakian and English. She has interacted on a global stage but nonetheless found it invaluable to research the countries she visited.
She also went the extra mile when hosting foreign dignitaries at the White House. Another White House staffer told CNN that Melania always spent hours plans events “including helping choose the floral arrangements, food selections, the overall aesthetic theme, and where the guests would sit.”
Grisham stated that the mother of one took her time when choosing gifts for guests so as to make the best impression.
Royal News – Melania Trump Is A Consummate Host
Melania also made it a point to pay homage to different countries by wearing famous native designers. For example, when she met the queen she wore British designer Stella McCartney.
Unlike Melania’s smooth moves, Donald Trump insisted on breaking with royal protocol when interacting with the queen. He did not bow to her, but instead shook her hand.
During a 2018 visit, Trump was seen walking in front of Queen Elizabeth and in 2020 the Trumps were at a state banquet at Buckingham Palace when the ex-president actually touched the queen’s back.
What do you think royal fans, should Melania have insisted that her husband attended her social graces lessons?

1) Americans do not BOW to foreign dignitaries or Monarchs. Trump was correct on that count.
2) Trump should not have walked in front of the Queen. That would be rude involving any female host – maybe ANY host.
3) Trump should have been briefed not to touch QEII but doing so was not a mortal sin; Michelle Obama did it and was not severely criticized.
