British royal family news reveals that former rugby superstar Mike Tindall is part of the royal clan after marrying Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall. Together the couple have delighted fans with their down-home, humble, and humorous approach to life.
In his book, The Good, The Bad, The Rugby — Unleashed, the former pro athlete shed some light on his time in the clan and may have spilled some tea on Meghan Markle. Read on to find out what professionally accomplished Mike had to say about the former briefcase girl.

Mike wrote that “Believe it or not, marrying into the royal family was pretty easy for me. They were always nice to me, and I was always nice to them. Simple really.”
Let’s face it, having your daughter marry a gorgeous athletic hero admired in your home country must have gone down easy, compared to hooking up with a divorced actress with a penchant for arching her back.
Mike noted “I expected big trays loaded with scones and exotic fruit tarts. Instead, I got a couple of broken rich teas and what appeared to be a half-eaten malted milk – a leftover from a box of Family Circle biscuits.”

Mike’s humorous “confession” hits different in comparison to the bizarre rants that the Duchess of Sussex has logged against her in-laws. According to Meghan, she was forced to wear bland colors, her passport was confiscated, and no one asked her how she’s doing.
In the Netflix reality show Harry & Meghan, the aspirational mid-lifer said this about leaving The Firm and landing in Canada: “We landed in Canada and one of our security guards who had been with H for so long, and these guys were so wonderful, I just collapsed in his arms crying.”
“I was like: ‘I tried so hard,’ and he was like: ‘I know you did. I know you did ma’am, I know you did. Like I tried so hard. And that’s the piece that’s really triggering because you go: ‘And it still wasn’t good enough. And you still don’t fit in.'” Meghan is referring to her failed princess candidacy which followed her 2018 marriage to Ginger Judas.

In 2021, Meghan confessed to Oprah Winfrey “I didn’t fully understand what the job was: What does it mean to be a working royal? What do you do? What does that mean? He and I were very aligned on our cause-driven work, that was part of our initial connection.”
“But there was no way to understand what the day-to-day was going to be like, and it’s so different because I didn’t romanticize any element of it. But I think, as Americans especially, what you do know about the royals is what you read in fairytales, and you think is what you know about the royals.”
