Does Sean Smith, “the UK’s leading celebrity biographer” really buy the idea that Meghan Markle rose from nothing and did it all, Frank Sinatra style, her way? Couldn’t this actually be just another publicity stunt designed to capture the attention of a mostly female audience and sell the Disney style fantasy of Cinderella meeting her prince?
After all, the truth of the matter is that Meghan’s father who happens to be an Emmy Award-winning lighting director and director of photography raised her in privilege! Wasn’t Meghan also educated in private schools practically from the womb until she set foot in front of a camera? Indeed, what normal American can afford the tuition Meghan’s dad shelled out at the sum of $40,000 per school year?
Isn’t it likely that Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle actually paid for her education all the way through college … despite Meghan’s hype that she paid for it with scholarships and side jobs? Her mother Doria Ragland certainly couldn’t afford to pay for Meghan’s private school tuition on a social worker’s salary. Self-made? Hardly!
Meghan got to at least a portion of where she is today because of her father. There are simply no two ways about that, and the fact that Meghan would allow people to suggest that her entire success is due to her efforts alone says a lot about her levels of narcissism.
Yet Sean Smith’s new book is entitled “Meghan: Misunderstood.” Of course! The masses are too judgmental! Meghan is a woman with a strong social conscience who wants to affect people’s lives ….
What this really seems to be is a book of apologetics designed to convince the masses that Meghan Markle really isn’t a woman with an enormous sense of self-entitlement, a woman who requires constant, excessive admiration, or someone who demands respect because of whom she just married only two short years ago.
Indeed, one might argue that everything Meghan Markle has ever done has been to push her face and image into the public sphere at every opportunity. Ever attempting to self-aggrandize, there are those who believe even Meghan’s current efforts to jump on the Black Lives Matter bandwagon are merely more posturing, more silent screams of “Look at me!”, and more signs of a belief in her own self-importance.
Yes! She knew what she was getting into by dating Harry but thought she could change the system. Then when things didn’t go her way and the going got tough….. she convinced Harry to leave his birthright. Definitely a pariah among other things!
