The relationship between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Netflix saw the biggest slam for them in a recent expose about Hollywood and their opinions.
Well, not deterred, it seems that the couple forge onward and there is a new show on the way. Read on for more details.
Netflix Ended For The Couple?
This week, The Daily Mail, reminded readers that Netflix ended its partnership with Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever. Additionally, folks who follow the royal family heard that they also dropped With Love, Meghan, after two seasons.
The outlet also noted that noted Netflix chief Ted Sarandos previously called Meghan Markle “the rock star.” It wasn’t that long ago, but since then, he apparently stopped following her accounts.
Notably, so did creative chief, Bela Bajaria. Given that reported sentiment, it seems strange to hear about the new project and yes, Prince Harry and Meghan will be working on it with Netflix.
The New Scripted Project
Earlier this week, Deadline confirmed that Netflix works with them on their new project. Interestingly, it’s about polo. Remember, the original Polo documentary didn’t do well at all. But this time, it’s a scripted drama. According to the outlet it’s an “upstairs-downstairs drama” set in Wellington, Florida.

For those who enjoy horses and polo, it might find a decent-sized audience. Apparently, it involves families into the sport and things equine, rival teams and the dynamics in that genre. While Harry and Meghan executive produce it, it’s not clear if viewers will see Harry playing his favorite sport in the show.
Discord Damage Control?
Apparently, the discord between the couple and Netflix got a bit of damage control by Bela Bajaria, who seemed to back off the alleged bad feeling. Deadline cited her as saying,
We still have a relationship with them…Deals come and go all the time, and we don’t renew so many deals, those just don’t get as much press for obvious reasons. There’s no juicy story there.
Okay, some people try and sell bridges, skeptics might think. Anyway, it’s not clear when you’ll be able to watch it. However, another show that’s in the works might arrive next year. That’s The Wedding Date that was announced some time ago.

When Royal News Network discussed the upcoming scripted project on YouTube, followers were able to comment. There, one of them opined, “No one, especially Americans, gives a damn about polo.”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- Sounds like Netflix is stuck on stupid if this is true. Unbelievable.
- CAN’T WAIT for that Polo show! Said no one ever….
- I live in WELLINGTON FL! This is where the infamous polo trophy incident with Sophie and Sentebale happened and we have had just about enough of this nonsense by these two
- I’m confused. And annoyed. Netflix just ended it with the pair, so what is this?!? And why?
