New Book Reveals Prince William Broke Up With Kate Over the Phone, & Other Shocking Royal Tidbits

British royal family news reveals that a new biography about Princess Catherine is the perfect summer read for fans who can’t wait for the popular royal to resume her public duties. Robert Jobson’s new book is titled, “Catherine, the Princess of Wales” and features some eye-opening revelations about Catherine and the royal family. Here are three of the juiciest tidbits!

Royal Family News – William Wasn’t Always Princely

Thanks to Prince Harry, we all know that there is no love lost between his brother Prince William and his wife Meghan Markle. Jobson’s book sheds more light on the alleged feud between the Nigerian Princess and the actual heir.

According to Jobson, Meghan Markle made an unflattering remark about Catherine, the Princess of Wales, when she was pregnant with her third child, Prince Louis.

Markle allegedly accused Kate Middleton of suffering from “baby brain” which reportedly led the princess to let Meghan know that she had no business commenting on “her hormones.” William got involved and a fired-up Meghan reportedly told Prince William to “keep your finger out of my face.”

Catherine Hesitated About This Royal Title

Meghan Markle has never met a title she doesn’t like but humble Catherine is said to have been hesitant to accept the title of Princess of Wales.

She is entitled to this moniker due to her marriage to Prince William but worried about being compared to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana. As the wife of Prince Charles, Diana was known as the Princess of Wales.

Jobson wrote that Kate “knew she’d inevitably be compared with Diana, whose untimely death had provoked such a tsunami of anger and grief. And she was right.”

Royal Family News – Prince William Broke Up Over the Phone

The biography also exposes the way in which Prince William broke up with Catherine in 2007. According to Jobson, William chose to end things (temporarily) with Kate over the phone.

That same month Kate turned 25 and William was serving in the military. Luckily, cooler heads prevailed and the couple now have a solid marriage and three beautiful children.

But back in the day Prince William—then a 2nd Lieutenant in the Blues and Royals—called Kate with his breakup news. According to Jobson, William said they needed “a bit of space” to “find our own way.” The conversation is said to have lasted 30 minutes.

A lot has changed over the years for the couple who meet in college while at St. Andrew’s. Today Kate is undergoing preventative chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer and William is one step away from inheriting the crown.
