No, it’s not anyone that you may be thinking of. There’s a new report that says Princess Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer is getting a divorce. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

According to new reports, Earl Spencer and his wife Karen are pulling the plug on their marriage. 

The couple wed back in 2011 and have been together for 13 years. This is Earl Spencer’s third marriage.

Apparently, their marriage broke down in the wake of him writing his memoir in which he detailed all the abuse that he endured while he was in boarding school as a child.

In a new interview with the Mail in Sunday, Earl Spencer admitted that this is certainly a very difficult time in his life for his family right now.

He said in a statement, “It is immensely sad. I just want to devote myself to all my children, and to my grandchildren, and I wish Karen every happiness in the future.”

In his memoir, Spencer wrote about an assistant matron that had abused him during his childhood years.

Royal Family News – Earl Spencer Is Getting A Divorce After 13 Years

This led him to undergo residential treatment for trauma, which he had late last year.

There’s speculation that his treatment might have led to the breakdown of his marriage.

In his memoir, which is simply titled ‘Me’, Spencer wrote, “There is something about the word, ‘Me,’ that strikes me now as not only wildly inappropriate, but intensely intimate—and, of course, slyly anonymous.”

As many royal fans are aware of, Princess Diana’s brother is also very close to her son, Prince Harry.

In fact, Earl Spencer has been one of Harry’s biggest defenders in the last several years. So far Earl Spencer himself has not made any additional comments about the matter. We will definitely update you with all of the latest details once they come in.
