New Video Shows Prince Harry Holding Back Meghan Markle During Walkabout For the Late Queen

British royal family news divulges that in the unfortunate circumstance of a death in the royal family, it is customary for members of the clan to have a walk about outside in order to acknowledge members of the public paying their respects.

In 1997 the world watched in awe as young Princes William and Harry, aged 15 and 12, did a walkabout following the sudden death of their mother Diana.

This ritual again played out in 2022 when Queen Elizabeth passed away. But that walkabout was remarkable for a different reason—here’s what to know!

The Queen’s Walkabout

In September 2022 William and Harry were joined by their respective spouses, Kate and Meghan, as they greeted crowds outside the palace. Despite having abandoned the monarchy in 2020, the Markles were in town when the queen died and were treated with respect.

According to the Daily Mail Princess Catherine experienced “one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do” a difficult task made more complicated by the presence of Meghan.

Meghan has been caught numerous times ignoring royal protocol and she did so again in this delicate and sentimental walk outside Windsor Castle.

Why Does Meghan Forget Royal Etiquette?

The outlet reports that video from the occasion now on TikTok, shows “Harry having to pull his wife back with his arm and slow down his walking pace so that she didn’t pull ahead of his older brother.”

Royalists will remember one time in particular when Meghan jostled in front of the queen on a walkabout, a major infraction.

As Meghan and Harry turned past the gate of Windsor Castle “he appeared to strategically slow down his walk while subtly using his hand to guide her back into place.”

Commentators Call Out Meghan

When the video is viewed in slow motion several commentators think that Meghan was hell bent on breaching tradition.

One poster said “Meghan just does not want to accept hierarchy” while another chimed in with “She should know protocol by now.” Harry and Meghan married in 2018 and it was reported that she refused any royal etiquette training which is standard for royal brides to be.

Other comments noted that “Meghan wouldn’t accept not being the star” and another wrote “Harry knows what she’s doing. She’s trying to be the spotlight as always.”

Meghan’s biggest faux pas came in 2018 when she was on an official visit with the Queen and had the temerity to get into a waiting car before the monarch was able to.
