On Second Anniversary Of Queen’s Death, King Charles And Queen Camilla Attend ChurchBritish royal family news reveals that September 8, 2024 marks the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death. Upon her passing her eldest son Prince Charles became King and his second wife, Camilla, became Queen.

The regents today observed the second anniversary of the late Queen’s death exactly as they did the first anniversary: by attending a church service.

The Second Anniversary Of Queen Elizabeth’s Passing

The late Queen Elizabeth died at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on Sunday, Sept. 8, at age 96. She was preceded in death by her husband Prince Philip who died at age 99 in April 2021.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have been at Balmoral, partaking of the royal family’s annual summer vacation tradition. On Sunday they were seen at the nearby church Crathie Kirk.

Royal Family News – Observing Queen Elizabeth’s Passing

The royal family’s official Instagram page observed the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death by posting a picture of late monarch with the caption “Remembering Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022.”

King Charles spent the first anniversary of his mother’s death in the Scottish Highlands with Camila, where they also attended a religious service at Crathie Kirk.

Royal Family News – Charles And Camilla Mourn The Late Queen

Buckingham Palace announced Queen Elizabeth’s death in an official statement that read “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.” Just days before the regent conducted her final royal duty for the year.

The late queen lived to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of dedicated service to her nation and the Commonwealth. She was immensely popular during her lifetime and some worried that Charles would not be up to the task of reigning after his mother.

He has proved the doubters wrong, nary taking a misstep and blending seamlessly into the role of monarch.

He was diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year and though his activities have been curtailed while he receives treatment, he has made several appearances to the delight of royalists.

Charles’ firstborn son, Prince William, will succeed his father, and William’s firstborn son, Prince George, will succeed him.
