Even though Meghan Markle now lives a royal life across the pond with her husband Prince Harry, she still has plenty of friends who have her back Stateside. And one of them just happens to be Oprah Winfrey. During an interview with CBS This Morning, Oprah went on the record to say that the media and Meghan’s critics have been way too harsh on her.
“I feel that if people really knew her they would know that she is not only everything we perceive of her in being graceful and dynamic in holding that position, but she just has a wonderful, warm, giving, loving heart,” Winfrey said. “I think it’s very unfair.”
Oprah attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding back in May of 2018. She’s now working with Harry on a mental health series that will launch on Apple’s new streaming network. She’s also good, personal friends with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. She says that it’s a very good thing that Meghan has a lot of things going on in her life these days. That way, she doesn’t spend any of her time worrying about other people’s opinions.
“I think that’s remarkable that despite everything that’s going on she does not read anything,” Winfrey said.
So far Meghan herself hasn’t made any comments about this, however, she’s probably secretly pleased that one of the most powerful people in television is defending her in public. It has to be a good feeling, right? Meghan Markle is currently expecting her first child and is reportedly already on her maternity leave. The Duchess is expected to give birth sometime during the last week of April, if not sooner or later.
With that said, you can only wonder if Oprah already has a baby gift lined up for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s little tot. We bet it’ll be epic!

In my humble opinion, no one should comment regarding Meghan, even when it is well intentioned. Even the defense will be criticized. The royal family does things differently, and the Americans have not yet caught on.
