Pregnant Meghan Markle On Welcoming Baby Girl: “We’re Thrilled!”

“Suits” alum and the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has revealed that she and her husband Harry are “thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter.”

“It’s a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world,” Meghan said in her virtual speech for Global Citizen’s VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.

A Better World For Her Baby Girl

The former actress has voiced her concern for equal access to the COVID vaccine pandemic, especially for women “who have been disproportionately affected.”

“We’ve gathered tonight because the road ahead is getting brighter. But it’s going to take every one of us to find our way forward. As campaign chairs of Vax Live, my husband and I believe it’s critical that our recovery prioritizes the health, safety, and success of everyone…”

“Women, and especially women of color, have seen a generation of economic gain wiped out,” Meghan continued, pointing out that nearly five-and-a-half million have lost their work in the U.S. since the start of the pandemic. “And 47 million more women around the world are expected to slip into extreme poverty,” she added.

Meghan and the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, are expecting their second child later this summer. With their baby girl coming in the way, the parents hope the next generation, including their daughter, will get to see “a successful, equitable, and compassionate tomorrow.”

“When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward,” the mother of two said.

Meghan pointed up that this present generation is responsible for setting up a brighter tomorrow for everyone. “Their future leadership depends on the decisions we make and the actions we take now… “

“We want to make sure that as we recover, we recover stronger. That as we rebuild, we rebuild together. Thank you,” Meghan concluded.

Couldn’t Ask For More

The couple announced the exciting news last Valentine’s Day, 37 years apart, when Princess Diana announced she was pregnant with Harry on the same day.

During their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey this year, Prince Harry revealed he is “grateful” upon learning their second child is a girl. “Having any child, any one or two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl…now we’ve got our family and we’ve got four of us.”

Big Brother’s Special Day

Their first child, Archie, just celebrated his second birthday on Thursday, May 6, with his parents. Us Weekly reported Meghan and Harry made his day extra special by making his card themselves with a poem for him in it, splashing out on gifts, including outdoor toys, and buying him the cutest birthday outfit.

In honor of Archie’s special day, the couple shared how people around the world can support a good cause on their Archewell Foundation website by encouraging fans who are capable to donate toward global vaccine distribution.
