This is coming after it was announced that the 95-year-old Monarch helped foot his hefty £12 million settlement bill.
Prince Andrew Treads Carefully After Remarkably Paying Out His Accuser
From the very beginning, Andrew has always discredited Virginia Giuffre’s sexual assault claims. However, their settlement agreement includes a clause that prevents him from casting Giuffre in a bad light moving forward. He also commended the 38-year-old’s “courage” in standing up to him.
Following news that he opted to settle out of court after insisting he wanted a trial by jury, many royal experts predicted that he is “finished”, with one calling him a “snivelling coward”.
The Royal Family Has sought to distance themselves from the disgraced Duke, with their silence when he celebrated his 62nd birthday awfully telling.
As he discussed the settlement with Giuffre’s legal team, he reportedly made a trip to see the Queen every night.
A royal insider said: “Andrew has been very careful and is trying to keep out of sight. He knows there are photographers in the daytime and his best chance to avoid them is after dark.
“He knows he is meant to be keeping his head down and it’s a short trip, but he is extremely contrite and apologised to the Queen for all the trouble he has caused her.
The source continued, saying that Andrew feels remorse for the whole affair. “He realises how serious this whole issue has been and the damage it has done to the monarchy. The last thing he wanted to do was cause his beloved mother so much anguish at her age and in her Platinum Jubilee year.”
“He is just so grateful for her support and it’s certainly true that the Queen has a soft spot for Andrew and regards him as her favourite son.”
