As a matter of fact, new reports indicate that Charles and his wife Camilla have announced that they are canceling their tour of Bosnia, Cyprus, and Jordan after being advised to do so by the British government.
Prince Charles and Camilla Aren’t Taking Any Risks
Even though both Prince Charles and Camila are in good health, they are taking no chances with the coronavirus outbreak. The virus has infected over 118,000 people worldwide with that number climbing every day. It’s also now been reported in more than 100 countries and has resulted in over 4,000 deaths. Cities such as New York City have declared a state of emergency as schools are closing their doors, sporting events are being postponed and the general population heading to their local grocery stores in droves to stock up on cleaning products, toilet paper and food.
With that said, Prince Charles and the rest of the royal family are most certainly staying home as many people from all over the world have decided to self-quarantine to help stop the spread of the deadly virus. A spokesman said, “Owing to the unfolding situation with the coronavirus pandemic the British government has asked their royal highnesses to postpone their Spring tour.”
All Royal Engagements Are Canceled Until April
Meanwhile, Norway’s Royal Family have announced this week that all of their official engagements will either be postponed until April or canceled altogether. While Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are postponing their tour, so far none of the other members of the British royal family have made any comments about their own plans. The last time that they were all together – including Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle – were at the Commonwealth Day Service in London this past week.
Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the coronavirus or if the palace plans on taking any precautionary measures. In the meantime, come back right here for all of the latest news and updates on the British royal family.
