Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles Take A Page Out Of Prince William And Kate Middleton’s Handbook
Just this week eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles changed their display name on their Twitter account. Previously known as Clarence House, which reflects the name of their office and their London resident, Charles and Camilla’s social media handlers have instead changed it to ‘The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.’
Similarly, Prince William and Kate Middleton made the same move earlier in the week. They replayed their Twitter handle of Kensington Palace with the more fitting, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They also made the change on their Instagram page, too.
Just recently Camilla herself admitted that she is no fan of the internet or social media for that matter but found it very useful during her weeks in lockdown because of the coronavirus. That’s because it was the only way that she could communicate and reach out to her family while she and Prince Charles sheltered-in-place at their private estate near Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
British Royal News: Camilla’s Online Connections
“It is about connecting and you know it’s lovely talking to people,” she said. “I like talking to people and sitting and looking at peoples’ faces, and you can’t really on screens, I mean you see their faces, but you don’t get the animated look that you get looking at a real person.”
With that said though, Camilla admitted that video engagements certainly don’t replace the real thing and that she is relieved to be making all of her royal engagements and public appearances in person again.
