Prince Charles And Camilla Parker Bowles Wanted To Help Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, According To Author
Royal author Nigel Cawthorne explains that the Cornwalls along with Prince William did want to find some sort of solution between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before they ultimately decided to quit the royal family with their seismic public announcement that has since been dubbed as ‘Megxit.’
Cawthorne told Yahoo UK: “Charles and William genuinely wanted to find a way forward for what the Sussexes were looking for and to support them in their discussions with the palace.”
However, the timing was rather complicated as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex first said that they wanted to scale back on their work as senior members of the royal family during the same time that Prince Andrew had his train wreck of an interview with BBC Nightline. The royal palace, to say the least, was definitely in crisis mode.
British Royal News: What’s Next For The Royal Family?
If that weren’t enough, Cawthorne also suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s plan to leave the royal family was something that was in the works for months, but because the senior members of the royal family were dealing with several public scandals and embarrassments at once, like Prince Andrew’s controversies and connections to questionable American financiers – there was no plan in place to help Harry and Meghan, let alone try to convince them to stay with the royal family.
