Royal Family News: William And Charles Allegedly Dismissed Prince Harry’s Plans To Step Down From Royal Duties
Royal watcher Robert Lacey is spilling the palace tea telling Us Weekly that Harry originally developed the Sussex Royal brand as a “sort of compromise.” According to Lacey, Harry tried his darnedest to tell his fam that Meghan wanted much more than tiaras and teas but they just wouldn’t listen. After all, who wouldn’t want to be a princess and live in a palace?
Then there is the infamous quote attributed to Harry in which he reportedly yelled, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!” No one was listening apparently, and now Meghan and Harry are spewing videotaped tirades whether we want them to or not.
British Royal Family News: Did Harry Try To Tell Prince Charles And Prince William That He Wanted Out of The Firm?
According to Lacey, “Harry had been talking to his father and brother. Saying, ‘Look, we’ve come to the conclusion we quite like Canada. We’d like to be on the side of the Atlantic. We think we want to stay here for a bit, but we think we can still say, Royal.’”
Lacey says that Harry’s creation of the Sussex Royal brand was an attempt to forge a “sort of compromise, a new form of … expatriate monarchy.” But no one took him seriously and they poo-pooed his idea that he, “could still represent the crown in Canada, [and] all these things.”
Why Didn’t The Royals Believe Harry When He Told Them He Wanted To Be An Expatriate Prince?
Lacey continues that Harry’s messaging, “was sort of offhand. They didn’t quite believe they were serious. It’s [like], ‘Put it down on writing paper or chap, you know, send us an email and we’ll think about it.”
Whether or not Harry took up the offer to text the Queen about being a half-in, half-out royal is anyone’s guess. But today Harry and Meghan are living like, erm, kings in the states while the royals watch along with the world as they continue to climb the ladder leading to the brass ring.
