No one can argue that Prince Charles has been a tireless worker for The Firm, almost from birth! The fact is that Charles was put to work when he was a tender 4-years old, the time most of us were playing in the sand and making mud pies.
That was the age the boy became the heir apparent and no doubt the concept of royal duty has been drilled into him since then. By all accounts, Charles has committed his life to be a dedicated royal servant, taking guidance from those who have come before him.
But you may be surprised to discover the extent to which Charles has taken his royal role to heart.
Prince Charles Has Always Appeared As A Complete Professional Royal In Public
Tim O’Donovan is an 87-year-old retired insurance broker who is more famous for keeping track of the royal family’s public events and engagements, a task he has engaged in for decades now. In that way you may say that he is a kind of “supervisor” for the royals, making sure that the public, who likes to keep them accountable, knows just what they’ve been up to.
According to Supervisor Tim, Charles was the busiest royal family member in 2019.
Prince Charles Is Tops In The Public Engagement Category
How many public events did Charles notch in his belt that year? In total the Royal Family executed 3,567 engagements of which Prince Charles was responsible for 521. Not surprisingly, Princess Anne, who is renowned for her furious work ethic, came in second place with 506 events.
The thing that makes his endurance all the more impressive is that the 71-year old Prince Charles could have retired several years ago. To be precise, he could have retired in 2014 at age 65 if he were an ordinary citizen.

According To His Wife, Prince Charles Will Never Retire From Public Duty
But Charles has made it known that he and his wife Camilla Duchess of Cornwall have no plans to retire despite their ages. On Thursday the couple attended an event at an Asda distribution center and later, employee Richard Sigward, 74, who has been working there for nearly 20 years spilled that, “The Duchess was saying to me she definitely agrees that if people can work and are happy to do it, they should carry on. She said she refuses to retire herself. The prince was the same.”
