Prince Charles Feels Lucky To Have Lived Through Contracting Coronavirus

Royal watcher Rhiannon Mills talked to Charles as he sat in his Aberdeenshire home. Charles was quite frank when he said, “I was lucky in my case and got away with it quite lightly. But I’ve had it, and I can so understand what other people have gone through.”

He made it a point to show sympathy and compassion for those who did not survive their battle with the virus saying, “I feel particularly for those who have lost their loved ones and have been unable to be with them at the time. That to me is the most ghastly thing.”

He then said, “But in order to prevent this happening to so many more people, I’m so determined to find a way out of this.”

Prince Charles Wants To Find An Answer To Combatting COVID-19

Charles was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March. Despite being in a high-risk group due to his age, he suffered only mild symptoms and was able to remain at work.

Despite the mild nature of his experience, Prince Charles revealed that it has helped him empathize with others going through the same circumstances.

During his interview, he said, “I can’t tell you how much I sympathize with the way that everyone has had to endure with this unbelievably testing and challenging time. I know that so many people have had the agony of losing their loved ones and the bewilderment and anxiety that surrounds everything.”

He went on to recognize the heroic efforts of the national health service and key workers who kept going in the midst of the crisis.

How Can COVID-19 Help The Environment?

Charles also thinks that the crisis may be an a-ha moment for the environment, saying “People have begun to realize that we have to put nature back at the center of everything we do and put it at the center of our economy.”

“The more we erode the natural world, the more we destroy biodiversity, the more we expose ourselves to this kind of danger. We’ve had these other disasters with SARS and EBOLA and goodness knows what else, all of these things are related to the loss of biodiversity.”

“So, we have to find a way this time to put nature back at the center,” he concluded.

To this end, he has launched The Great Reset Project, an initiative that endeavors to ensure businesses “build back better” following the pandemic.
