Prince Charles Issues Important Message On International Youth Day
On Friday, the Duke of Cornwall praised young people around the world for their resilience in overcoming the disruption the last few years has done to their education and work life. The tribute to young people was done to mark International Youth Day, and the 73-year-old acknowledged that the pandemic have caused many mental health problems that have left them struggling to progress in the world of work.
“It is particularly important that you know your resilience is respected, your determination is admired and that our commitment to you is clear, in order to give you all the chance you deserve,” he said on the direct broadcast, which aired on BBC World Service.
He also advised the older generation to lend help to the struggling youngsters, saying, “As we still do not know the full repercussions of this turbulent period for the younger generation, it is time for us to come together to support the world’s future workforce.”
Prince Charles On Young People Leaving the Educational Space
In 1976, Prince Charles founded the Prince’s Trust to help young people acquire the right skills and tools to succeed.
In his video message, the Prince noted that “young people leaving education do not feel ready for the world of work. They are calling for us all to play our part and help provide them with the skills they need for the jobs of the future, especially those in the green economy, as the threats of climate change and accelerating loss of biodiversity loom large and are felt acutely by our younger generation”
