Prince Edward Offers Rare Remarks On Andrew, Epstein Fallout

Prince Edward, while appearing at the World Governments Summit in Dubai this week, broke the royal family’s silence on Jeffrey Epstein and the scandals surrounding his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Read on for more details.

It can’t be easy to stand tall and firm when reporters go after the hard questions. Well, The Mirror, reported that a reporter from CNN tackled him about the latest Epstein file drop, asking him what he thought about it and how he’s holding up.

Actually, it seemed a surprise for everyone there, because Prince Edward didn’t brush it off. Instead, he responded, and talked about the victims and how it’s “important to remember them.”

However, he also mentioned that the summit might not be the best place in the world to ask about that as it was off-topic.

Problems Back Home

Of course, the Epstein files pile on the pressure for the royal family. Notably, the one showing Andrew crawling around on his hands and knees with a woman beneath him seemed bizarre.

Prince Edward probably knows about that, but he wasn’t about to let the discussion detract from the meeting about education and the future. Still, at least he said something. The rest of the family seems tightlipped about Andrew’s indiscretions.

While Andre denied he ever did anything wrong, photos like the all-fours one only change the mind of many folks who believed his innocence claims.

At the moment, it seems that Princess Anne might be his only defender, as allegedly, she wanted to start looking after their own, demanding a meeting with King Charles. Andrew’s been severely punished. Kicked out of the Royal Lodge, he lost all his titles. Plus, he no longer does any royal duties, and seems shunned by his daughters.

Contrasting The Two Brothers

With Prince Edward in the headlines, it’s a good opportunity to compare the two sons of Queen Elizabeth. In fact, the two brothers handled their lives of privilege like chalk and cheese.

Once upon a time, Andrew was hailed as the brave helicopter pilot hero of the Falklands War. However, apart from growing arrogance, he also kept the company of shady people which led to his spectacular downfall.

Meanwhile, Prince Edward, the youngest son quietly went about focusing on public service. Briefly as a young man, he tried entering the world of television, but tripped up over wanting to air some footage of the young royals. Still, he recovered from that setback and is now known for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Sophie Seems Solid

Royal family followers are well aware that Andrew’s ex, Sarah Ferguson also seemed over-friendly with Epstein, which doesn’t help him at all. But Prince Edward married a different sort of woman. And it’s Sophie who sometimes gets credited as being a solid and stable influence on her family.

Edward, Sophie, and their kids, Lady Louise and James, get on just fine staying out of the headlines. A humble man, Edward leaves a legacy of hard work and quiet dignity.
