British royal family news reveals that one day young Prince George will follow in the footsteps of his father Prince William, and become king. It is a foregone conclusion, just as William will succeed his father, the current monarch, King Charles.
The role is an honor and a responsibility and it’s said that already his parents have been leaning him into the venerable position.
By all accounts, George is a natural and well on his way to becoming a splendid monarch. Here’s what to know about how George is handling the burden of his future.
George Will One Day Be King
Royal editor Roya Nikkhah talked about George’s duty on “The Royals with Roya and Kate” podcast. According to her the young prince sometimes is “overwhelmed” by the prospect of his reign. Heavy is the head that wears the crown …
Despite being just 11-years old, Prince George has already carried out official royal engagements.
She said “He has done some already, he’s been at the rugby a few times. I’ve been at the rugby with him and he’s still not totally comfortable in front of the cameras and in front of the media.”
She added “I don’t blame him. He’s got a lifetime of it ahead of him.”
King George Is Camera Shy
We have no doubt that George will grow into his role marvelously, as his father is doing now. There were some qualms about William’s leadership but his strength and dignity during the last trying year has shown that he is forged in steel.
It’s been reported that his parents are considering not sending Prince George to boarding school, which would be a royal first with some suggesting that Prince William and Princess Catherine are debating whether to send their eldest son to the Prince’s alma mater, Eton College, or to his mother’s alma mater, Marlborough College.
Where Will George Attend School?
Then again, Kate has been seen touring schools in London, which suggests George may be kept closer to home.
Kate and Charles were diagnosed with cancer last year, making the last twelve months heavy indeed.
Royal pundit Rebecca English thinks that her diagnosis influenced Kate approach to raising her children: “Cancer impacts on your perspective, and what you have seen in the decisions they have made over the last year is that family and their children continue to be at the center of their universe.”
“Both Their Royal Highnesses have a strong commitment to duty, service and using their platform for good. But what they are working on is ways they can balance themselves as parents with being the Prince and Princess of Wales.”
So far they have not made a misstep and the monarchy looks to be in great hands going forward.
