Believe it or not, “Harry’s real beef is that he is convinced Charles always preferred William anyway and not just because William is the heir.”

Ok, let’s stop right here and admit that many parents do have favorites. But no one with two brain cells doubts that Charles loves Harry dearly. Why else does he put up with his trashtastic behavior?

Quinn notes that “Harry’s difficulties when he was a teenager and his increasing volatility as an adult terrified Charles who turned to the far more stable, risk-free William.”[
